The official launch of Oceans of Injustice, hosted by Caabu and Native Liberty Productions, took place on 16 May 2017. Two short films and an audio journey were screened at the Courthouse Hotel Cinema, London. Following the screening Chris Doyle chaired a Q&A session with Lord Warner, a crossbench member of the House of Lords, and Farah Nabulsi, writer and producer of the films.
Resettlement of Syrian refugees
Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron has said that the UK should take in 50,000 more Syrian refugees from camps in the region and has urged the Labour Party to match this pledge:

We value international law, human rights and international cooperation for all these problems and working towards a solution on that basis. The party’s policy is to support the recognition of Palestine as a state.
On 2 May, Caabu hosted an event, chaired by Board Member, John McHugo in which Laila Parsons spoke about her book, The Commander: Fawzi Al-Qawuqji and the Fight for Arab Independence 1914-1948. Parsons’ work details the 1914-1948 period told through the life of one man, Fawzi Al-Qawuqji, a well-known armed rebel fighting against colonial powers such as Britain across the Arab lands in Iraq, Syria, Palestine and Jordan.
