On 12 October, Caabu hosted a parliamentary event with Christopher Phillips, academic and author of the recently published book The Battle for Syria: International Rivalry in the New Middle East.The event was chaired by Wes Streeting MP.
Caabu Parliamentary delegates from our two most recent delegations to the West Bank have asked questions on Palestinian child detainees, Palestinian home demolitions in Khan al Ahmar and illegal Israeli settlements.

The case surrounding the confiscation of Syrian journalist Zaina Erhaim's passport by the UK Home Office has garnered significant Parliamentary engagement. On 22 September, Syrian journalist and critic of the Syrian regime, Zaina Erhaim had her passport taken from her at Heathrow airport. She was told that this was because the Syrian government said that it was stolen.
On 10 October, Caabu and the MBI Al Jaber Foundation hosted a joint event on the conflict in Yemen, with two journalists who have recently returned from the country, Peter Oborne and Nawal Al-Maghafi. The event was chaired by Paula Sherriff MP.
