British politicians call for accountability for Israeli actions in Gaza in response to testimonies from Israeli soldiers
British politicians have responded to the damning testimonies from Israeli soldiers in the assault on Gaza in July-August 2014. Israeli human rights organisation, Breaking the Silence, released the testimonies of 60 Israeli soldiers involved in last summer’s Operation Protective Edge, in their report, This is how we fought in Gaza.

14 senior members of the House of Lords have writen a letter to the Telegraph about the need to address the terrible crisis in the Mediterranean, They argue that the response announced following the meeting on 23 April of EU leaders "represents the beginning of a response, but is not enough." Chris Doyle, Director of the Council for Arab British Understanding (Caabu), has won the prestigious Annemarie Schimmel Award for Excellence in championing a Muslim cause. He was presented with the award at the Muslim News Awards for Excellence ceremony in London Wednesday 25 March in the presence of the leader of the UK opposition, the Rt Hon Ed Miliband MP and the Secretary of State for Education, Rt Hon Nicky Morgan MP.

UKIP leader, Nigel Farage, is not happy with the accusations that UKIP is a party comprised of the racist and the bigoted. He highlights BME candidates (all of which are in unwinnable seats), that this is testament to that fact. Yet does this view stack up?
