On 25 May, Human Appeal and Caabu hosted a dinner to celebrate the arrival of Ramadan. The event marked the acheivements of both Human Appeal and Caabu. 2016 is Human Appeal's 25th year, who have gone from strength to strength - they have grown from a £3.7m organisation in 2011 to a £30m organisation in 2016 which makes them the fastest growing charity in the UK. On Monday 16 February, Israeli authorities began demolishing Palestinian homes in the Bedouin community of Jabal al-Baba. 90 Palestinians (mostly children) were made homeless after the demolitions. According to reports, 12 caravans were demolished under the pretext that they had no building permission. The homes were donated by the European Union after previous demolitions in Jabal al-Baba.
Caabu Director on visit to Tunisia why we need to support it

Caabu Director Chris Doyle joined a delegation to Tunisia, meeting with senior officials, members of civil society and those involved in the tourist industry. He visited the sites of the awful 2015 massacres at the Bardo museum and the Imperial Marhaba hotel in Sousse.

Caabu's director Chris Doyle has reviewd Jack Shenker's book, The Egyptians: A Radical Story for Middle East Eye: Egypt's unfinished contest between authoritarianism and popular resistance. Shenker previously spoke at a Caabu event in Parliament.
On 20 April, Caabu hosted an event in Parliament on popular unarmed resistance in Palestine, with academic and co-author of Popular Protest in Palestine: The Uncertain Future, Marwan Darweish.
Summary
A delegation of four British politicians visited the West Bank from 4-8 April in a delegation organised by Caabu and our partner Medical Aid for Palestinians. The delegation was led by the Chair of the Britain-Palestine All Party Parliamentary Group, Richard Burden MP. The others were Lord Norman Warner, a former Health Minister and two Conservative MPs elected in 2015, Kelly Tolhurst and William Wragg.
Dr Neil Partrick, the lead contributing author of Saudi Arabian Foreign Policy: Conflict and Cooperation, addressed Caabu on the key themes in his book on Saudi Foreign policy particularly its relations with other Middle Eastern countries.
