Terry Duffy’s confrontational painting of a Crucifix will hang above the altar at St Martin-in-the-Fields during Passion and Holy Week. This 4.2 meter high cross is on a global journey highlighting the lives of victims of violence whose suffering cries out for redress. Each day different speakers will speak of their own experiences of violence. From the war in Afghanistan, or Gaza, to the anguish of mental illness, to the pain of the loss of a son through  homicide in this country, this programme confronts us with the reality of the cross today. What does Christ’s cross mean for us?
