Caabu and the MBI Al Jaber Foundation will be hosting a panel discussion: Social media in the Arab world: Whose friend, whose foe? The panelists will include former Middle East Editor of the Guardian Brian Whitaker; Mai Noman, Interactivity Producer from BBC Arabic, Fanar Haddad, Research Fellow at the Middle East Institute, National University of Singapore and journalist and comment writer, Nesrine Malik.
Where does loyalty lie? To country, family or political position?
Walaa is a play that explores these themes in the current Syrian crisis, described by many as 'the worst humanitarian conflict of our time'.

We are pleased to welcome filmmaker Koutaiba Al-Janabi to appear on a panel after the screening, together with director of Some of the Palestinians, Mamoun Hassan. Caabu's director Chris Doyle will chair the panel discussion. Some of Al-Janabi's work from the Palestinian Camps in Lebanon, 1978-1982, will also be featured.
