Representatives from Adalah, Addameer and War on Want spoke about the surge in torture and other abuse perpetrated by Israeli personnel against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and detention centres in Israel, as documented by UN experts and Palestinian, Israeli and international human rights organisations.
Caabu Director Chris Doyle is among 54 signatories in an Oxfam open letter, urging the UK Government to immediately halt arms licences and exports to the Government of Israel, as a first step to secure a permanent and immediate ceasefire for all Palestinians and Israelis.
Open Letter To Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch and Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron
Dear Trade Secretary and Foreign Secretary,
The Britain-Palestine All Party Parliamentary Group hosted an online briefing on Monday 18 March 2024 on the incarceration conditions and systematic rights violations of Palestinians in Israeli custody, with Physicians for Human Rights Israel. In a full page advert taken out in the Times on 21 March 2024, with Gaza on the brink of famine, Caabu has joined other organisations calling on the UK government to do more to prevent death, destruction and degradation in Gaza.
The advert states and demands the following:
If we want to save lives, tackle starvation and disease, as well as provide the best opportunity for all the hostages to be released, MPs should support an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
