Caabu Press Release: 246 MPs now support a UK ban on trade and financial dealings with illegal Israeli settlements

A total of 246 MPs have publicly expressed support for a full UK ban on trade and financial deals with illegal Israeli settlements during this Parliament. (see list below). Of these 143 are Labour, 68 are Lib Dem, 3 are Conservative, 7 Independent, 7 Sinn Fein, 7 SNP, 4 Green, 4 Plaid Cymru, 2 SDLP, 1 Alliance)
This includes those who have signed the recent letter from around 140 Labour MPs, those who signed a Caabu letter calling for such a ban on 3 March 2026, and a number of Early Day Motions. Those MPs who are on the payroll vote (Ministers, Whips and Parliamentary Private Secretaries – around 130) cannot by convention sign such letters and motions.
Caabu has pushed for such a ban for many years. The UK has stated consistently for decades that all settlements are illegal under international law, so logic and legality dictates that the UK should not permit any business dealings with settlements in occupied territory. This is even more important given the record pace of Israeli settlement expansion in recent years, and the massive levels of settler violence against Palestinian communities assisted by the Israeli army.
