Everyone at Caabu was very sad to learn of the passing of Mustapha Karkouti. He was a close friend of everyone at Caabu having served on its board and as its Vice-Chair until he stood down in November 2004.
Mustapha had an extraordinary level of knowledge about the Middle East and was always willing to advise and help. For many years he was head of the Foreign Press Association in London and was a regular on the BBC's political discussion programme, Dateline London.
He was a warm and generous colleague who will be sorely missed. Our sincerest condolences go out to Faten his wife and all his family.
