Caabu and Action for Humanity Eid reception in Parliament

Caabu and Action for Humanity Eid reception in Parliament

On 23 March 2026, we hosted an Eid Reception in parliament, alongside our partner, Action for Humanity.

We were delighted to welcome guests and MPs, particularly those who have led on Palestine advocacy in parliament.

The evening was both meaningful and timely. We were honoured to hear from the Palestinian Ambassador, Dr Husam Zumlot, alongside Chris Doyle, and Othman Moqbel, who collectively urged the 32 parliamentarians present to scale up efforts in response to Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, the rapid expansion of illegal settlements, increasing violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, and the bombing and invasion of Lebanon that has forcibly displaced over 1 million people, 20% of the population.

Their message was clear: the moment demands urgency, accountability, and sustained political pressure.

We were also encouraged by contributions from our Chair, Rt Hon Alistair Carmichael MP, and Baroness Julie Elliott, who reaffirmed their commitment to continuing this work in Parliament.
