On 28 February 2019, the UK will host an important conference on Jordan looking at the opportunities for economic transformation, with a particular focus on youth, women and refugees.

The Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Jordan Group and Caabu Chair, Rt Hon David Jones MP said:

“The decision of the Government to host this important conference on Jordan is very timely and much needed. It is vital that the UK’s relationship with Jordan is further strengthened, and that both countries look at ways to enhance economic growth, jobs and investment in Jordan. It is particularly important that this conference emphasises ways in which youth, women and refugees are given greater opportunities to be part of this initiative. I welcome that the Prime Minister has made this a priority, and will herself be part of this conference.”

In Department for International Development Questions, the International Development Secretary Penny Mordaunt responded to questions from Kate Green MP and Tim Loughton MP, where she emphasised the importnacce of such a conference.
