CAABU Director interviewed on Hizbollah

CAABU Director, Chris Doyle, in an interview on BBC Radio, explained that Hizbollah would not be eradicated in the current conflict. It was part of the fabric of Lebanese society.

The main impact of the Israeli attacks had, he explained, been to increase support for the organisation throughout Lebanon and in the wider Arab world.

He also expressed concern that any multinational force deployed in southern Lebanon should be with the consent of the local population and as part of an agreement with Hizbollah. Otherwise this force would become another participant in a conflict.
